Meet the Head Teacher and Team

The Leadership Team:

Louise Carmichael-Line, Headteacher

I am delighted to welcome you to St David’s Prep. We are proud to be celebrating our Centenary this year and there is a tremendous sense of pride and wonder for our history, alongside ambition and excitement for our future.

Our school is a community where pupils are kind, honest, reflective and ambitious. Small class sizes, Personalised Learning Programmes and dedicated, passionate staff ensure that every child is nurtured, supported and challenged every day and this is reflected in our excellent academic outcomes.

All of this is set against the backdrop of our stunning six-acre site. Newly developed buildings sit alongside extensive grounds including a Forest School, outdoor stage and sports fields, providing endless opportunities for pupils to explore, discover and create. Our school is a place where childhood is celebrated, and every day brings a new adventure.

While our website provides a glimpse into life at St David’s, it cannot fully capture the extraordinary spirit of our school. I warmly invite you to come and see us for yourself. My team and I would be delighted to welcome you.

Chris King,  School Business Manager

Amber O’Sullivan, Deputy Head (Pastoral), SENCo, and Designated Safeguarding Lead

After travelling the world over ten years ago and gaining a wealth of experience, I am now in my 11th year at St David’s. I feel very lucky to be in the role that I am, as I get to work closely with pupils, parents and staff. My main aim as Pastoral Deputy Head, DSL and SENDCo is to ensure that the children feel safe and happy at school and that they receive the education that every child is entitled to. Greeting them each morning at the gate allows me to connect with the children and give them the welcome that they deserve. I am grateful to be able to work with some of our Year 6 pupils in being our ‘Happy Place Champions,’ which involves them being wellbeing ambassadors for some of our younger pupils at lunchtimes. I love seeing the journey that our pupils go on, and having taught many of them in Reception or Year 2, it is wonderful to see how they are flourishing and growing into confident young adults with the support of their amazing teachers.

When I am not at school, I enjoy socialising with my family and friends and particularly enjoy going on walks…when it’s not raining! I am really excited for the future of St David’s and cannot wait to continue to be a part of it!

Holly Bishop, Deputy Head (Academic), Year 3 Teacher and English Co-ordinator

It was always been my ambition to become a teacher. After leaving school, I completed a Geography degree at the University of Southampton, followed by a PGCE at Goldsmith’s College, London. I started my teaching career in Bromley, then spent 13 years working in Dulwich, leading Year 3 and working in a variety of year groups.

On my first visit to St David’s, I was struck by the warmth and enthusiasm which radiates from both the staff and the pupils, and it really is a pleasure to work here. I started here as the Librarian, and while books and reading remain very dear to me, being in the classroom is my true passion. I have such wonderful memories of my own school days, and I hope that I can play a part in creating similar experiences for the children that I teach.

When I am not in school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, curling up with a good book and getting out and about for walks in the countryside.
