After St David’s Prep

We are lucky in West Wickham to be surrounded by many outstanding independent, grammar and state senior schools.

It is very hard when your child is at the beginning of their journey with us to identify the senior school that will best suit his or her strengths and character aged 11. The benefit of choosing an entirely independent prep school is that you can wait to see how your child develops before selecting a senior school for them.

As they move up the school we will have regular discussions with you and when the time is right, we can help you identify the one where your child will thrive. Our pupils generally get into their preferred choice of school and we enjoy seeing them move on from St David’s and flourish in their new environment, the one that is right for them. In the past few years, children from St David’s have gone onto the following schools:

From the first day your child starts with us at St David’s, the journey begins. In partnership with you at home, we aim to bring out the very best in every child entrusted to us and give them every chance and opportunity we possibly can. Our experienced team of teaching and support staff provide inspiring and engaging lessons that are delivered in a creative and purposeful way. Lessons are planned to provide the necessary challenge and support that encompass the learning styles and needs of all our pupils.

Children grow in confidence as they access our broad and balanced curriculum and develop the knowledge and skills to succeed academically. Our pupils are given opportunities to try new experiences, be risk takers and undertake positions of responsibility as they move through the school. A culture of praise and reward gives pupils a sense of being valued as individuals with many achievements, both within and outside of school, celebrated by the whole school community.

In our small, happy school, children are encouraged to shine in an environment where mutual support and kindness are key. They become independent, self-motivated learners, keen to know more about the world around them and eager to play their part in forging a better future. Simply put, they flourish!
