Year 4 set off to the National Gallery

On Monday, Year 4 set off for London to visit the National Gallery. The heavy rain did not manage to dampen their spirits and their art teacher, Mrs Thorpe took on the role of tour guide, stopping in Trafalgar Square to examine the current structure on the fourth plinth.

Once in the gallery, the children had a chance to walk through and marvel at a handful of the Gallery’s 2,500 treasures. The highlight was being allowed to sit by Van Gogh’s ‘Sunflowers’ whilst a Gallery expert discussed its history and techniques. What a treat!
