Meet Mrs Strict and Mrs Stern

The Year 2 classroom looked very different on Friday as the children arrived dressed as Victorians. They spent the whole day learning and playing as Victorian school children. Lessons began with writing out the alphabet in copy books, reciting times tables and making wooden peg dolls. Their teachers, Mrs Strict and Mrs Stern, gave the children’s hands and nails a thorough inspection for cleanliness and made notes in the Punishment Book of any pupils who had to wash their mouths out with soap or wear the backboard for not sitting up straight! They survived the experience and gained an appreciation of how different children’s lives are today.
