Art in Year 5

During their Art lesson, the New Year got off to an interesting start when we learnt about New Year’s Eve customs around the world. We all agreed that the tradition of taking your empty suitcase for a walk, in the hope to realise your dream holiday, was the best one! The pupils also enjoyed hearing New Year greetings in 27 different languages and Chante and Yari taught us to how to say it in Romanian and French.

A class discussion followed about New Year resolutions and how we can have a positive impact by being kind and helping each other in our school, at home, in our neighbourhood as well as the wider community. This will contribute to our pupils’ individual Global Passports.

Finally each pupil creatively decorated a dove, complete with their personalised message. Happy New Year!
